If you’re ready to shape the future of entertainment at the intersection of media and technology, join us.

Located in Los Angeles or New York, the Sr. Director of Engineering will serve as a senior technical leader within the engineering organization, acting as a key partner and second-in-command to the SVP of Engineering. This role is focused on designing, evolving, and enabling scalable, multi-tenant SaaS architecture while accelerating team execution.

The ideal candidate has deep experience building large-scale SaaS platforms and excels at translating architectural vision into clear, executable designs that other engineers can implement successfully. This role plays a critical part in reducing technical bottlenecks, improving scalability, and raising the overall technical maturity of the platform.

What You Will Do:

  • Partner closely with the SVP of Engineering to design and evolve the system architecture for a multi-tenant SaaS platform.
  • Lead the design of scalable, secure, and maintainable software components that support growth and operational reliability.
  • Translate high-level architectural decisions into clear technical designs, patterns, and implementation guidance for the engineering team.
  • Review system designs and code with a focus on scalability, performance, and long-term maintainability.
  • Identify and proactively address architectural risks, performance bottlenecks, and scalability challenges.
  • Serve as a technical mentor and guide for engineers, particularly around SaaS-specific concerns such as multi-tenancy, data modeling, and system boundaries.
  • Enable parallel development by defining clear interfaces, contracts, and guardrails that reduce rework and refactoring.
  • Collaborate with product, infrastructure, and engineering leadership to align technical solutions with business and product goals.
  • Contribute hands-on to critical or complex engineering initiatives as needed.
  • Stay informed on industry best practices and emerging patterns related to large-scale SaaS systems.
Requirements

What You Will Bring:

  • 8+ years of professional software engineering experience, including significant experience building and operating large-scale SaaS platforms.
  • Demonstrated expertise in designing multi-tenant architectures and systems that scale in production.
  • Strong background in system design, data modeling, and performance considerations for SaaS products.
  • Proven ability to define architectural patterns that enable other engineers to execute efficiently and correctly.
  • Experience operating at a Staff Engineer or Principal Engineer level is strongly preferred.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and sound technical judgment.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to influence technical direction without formal management authority.
  • Experience working cross-functionally with product, design, and engineering leadership.
  • Familiarity with Agile development practices and modern software development workflows.
