MERIT is seeking a Director of Talent to own and elevate the brand’s celebrity content strategy from long-term vision through hands-on execution. Sitting on the Brand Team, this role will lead all celebrity negotiations with talent agency teams, secure high-impact makeup sponsorships for red carpet and other cultural moments, and serve as the on-set point person for talent across every celebrity shoot.

This person will play a defining role in shaping how MERIT shows up in culture — building out the brand’s MUA program, deepening relationships across talent management, and ensuring every celebrity partnership feels intentional and on brand. The ideal candidate is equal parts negotiator, relationship-builder, operator, and cultural tastemaker — someone with deep, established industry relationships and an instinct for the moments and faces that keep MERIT relevant.

Job Duties

• Own MERIT’s celebrity content long-term strategy and execution
• Lead all celebrity negotiations with talent agency teams
• Secure celebrity makeup sponsorships for red carpet and other high-impact moments
• Be on set of all celebrity shoots and manage talent teams onsite
• Build out the MUA program to develop a strategic and consistent process for activating makeup artist relationships
• Closely collaborate with Influencer and Social Content teams to ensure celebrity spokespeople and content are on brand and optimized
• Manage an approximately $1.5M+ talent budget

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in the talent space
• Deep relationships with talent management
• A finger on the pulse of culture
• Proven experience leading negotiations and managing talent relationships at a senior level
• Strong budget management and cross-functional collaboration skills
• Los Angeles-based and available to work in office two days per week
